Hightown, Mississippi in Alcorn County

Hightown was formed in 1839, twelve miles southwest of Corinth, being named for its elevated position.

Hightown never had a post office - the mail was delivered from Kossuth. A Mr. Shadburn donated land for an early scholl for the town.
