Strickland, Mississippi in Alcorn County

Located about eight miles southeast of Corinth, Strickland was formed in 1914 and owes its origin to the building of the Illinois Central Railroad. The place was named for John Strickland, who operated a store here and carried on considerable business with the railroad until about 1920.
